  • Yes, in case of the availability of the standard test for medical specialties called PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board) as well as meeting the general and applicant-related conditions for the scholarship program. Also, the student can apply for academic and research fields of study. These requests will be submitted to expert committees for verifying the requested field of study based on applicant’s educational and professional background.
  • How to calculate the (15%) top ranked students?
  • \ It will be based on the student’s rank percentage divided by the number of passed students of that year rounded to the nearest half.
  • Is the high school certificate required for applying to the scholarship program for students seeking doctorate degree?
  • Students seeking doctorate degree are not required to submit their high school certificate during the applying phase, but it needs to be provided once the student is accepted in the scholarship program in order for a file to be created at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In addition, this certificate is considered one of the basic documents to complete the scholarship procedures and signing the contract.
  • I have a high diploma degree certificate (degree earned after obtaining the baccalaureate degree), can I apply for the scholarship program to obtain doctorate degree?
  • If the high diploma degree certificate is two years of study after the baccalaureate degree and has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to be equivalent to a master degree certificate, then the student is eligible to apply.

  • The English language standard tests (Official TOEFL, CBT TOEFL, ITP TOEFL, iBT TOEFL or IELTS) are considered a basic requirement for applying to the scholarship program.

  • Only official TOEFL tests two years old or less from the applying start date will be considered.
  • What is the (GRE) exam and what is the required score?

  • In case the applicant was not nominated for the scholarship program; can he apply taking upon himself to pay all the expenses with the assistance of the higher committee?
  • He cannot as the scholarship program is only for the students that have been accepted according to the rules and conditions mentioned earlier.
  • Is there a special type of scholarship (beyond the doctorate degree)?
  • The scholarship program for education development in Iraq is dedicated to master and doctorate degree scholarships only and there are no scholarships beyond the doctorate degree in the plan.
